Sanford Meisner described acting as "living truthfully under imaginary circumstances". I believe that is an accurate description of a good improvisation as well. I will introduce your students to the fundamentals of improvisation in a very clear and codified way. I will also encourage them to break out of the structures I give them and to let themselves be carried away by their imaginations. I will be asking them to generate material but also to explore, to wander into other worlds and to walk there as different versions of themselves.
